  • Rows of RVs at the Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort. Irrigated golf courses and palm trees create the illusion of paradise at the retirement community and RV park. While using desert land is inexpensive in the short term, it is costly in the long term because of the energy and resources required to maintain the façade.
  • Sun City, AZSun City found it had so many RVs that, in 1983, it had to apportion a half-mile-long-by-quartermile-wide parking lot to accommodate its residents’ vehicles.Ref #: 050216_0231

  • Kartoffelrækkerne, also known as Farimagsgade, is a Copenhagen neighborhood of 480 former public housing units, built in 1873 by the Workers Construction Association. Designed by Friedrich Christian Bøttger, the public housing blocks were intended to improve sanitation at a time when Cholera epidemics ravaged the city. The push for social advancement is reflected in the precision of the 11 streets, and the late classical facades. Erected on land used for cultivating food while the city was under fortification, the straight rows of houeses are named {quote}Kartoffelrækkerne,{quote} for rows of potatoes. Today, the homes are among the most coveted in Copenhagen.
