Man and Coast: What to do When the North Sea Rises
October 29, 2016 - April 26, 2017
WEBSITE
Large-format aerial photographs by the American photographic artist Alex S. MacLean show impressively the German North Sea coast, its natural developments and the consequences of human interventions. The advantages and risks of the centuries-old dyke construction are as visible here as the rethinking of the marshes by cleverly placed tidepolders and reconcile the land with the water.
The exhibition unites the artist's eye with the analysis of the scientists and provides thought for dealing with the steady rise of the sea level in the coastal regions.
